I’m a big fan of this Victoriana trend that’s cropping up everywhere. It’s a refined and classy look, I think, and can be flattering to all shapes and sizes. The crisp whites, the lace, the gothic velvet burgundies to match… It’s perfect for the colder, darker months. I found this dress at Oasis and I fell in love straight away.
I took this beautiful number out for a spin in the only place that seemed appropriate… Westminster. The buildings surrounding St. James’s Park are of particular interest to me and the style of it all is rather stunning. I felt like I was in another time, in my pretty lace dress, surrounded by such classic architecture.
The lace detail is perhaps my favorite element of the dress, and the high neck features a classic button closure. I thought I’d be a little more dramatic by adding a bright red lip and pairing the dress with my lace-up boots from Pull & Bear, which also have a classic feel about them. I’d love to play with other looks to match this dress too, as I think it could be very versatile. The lace and the crisp white colour mean there isn’t much it won’t go with, so that’s a definite bonus!
I’ve got a few more ideas about how to style the Victoriana trend as well. It’s one I’m really loving at the moment.
Would you give the look a go? What are some of your favorite Victoriana pieces?
