My Birchbox post is a little bit late, and I apologize for that! There was a bit of a snafu with my delivery, so I didn’t actually receive my box until over a week later than I normally would! Still, it’s come at a perfect time, because the seasons are changing, and I definitely change up my routine once it gets a bit colder. I’m a bit more lax on my product use during the summer, but cold weather definitely makes me stock up on things!
what’s in my box?
ModelCo Créme Rouge
“Whether you’ve received créme rouge – a 2-in-1 formula to add a flush of colour to lips and cheeks – OR the highlighting trio – three radiance-enhancing creamy pigments – we know you’ll love this full-zised mae-up treat from Aussie brand ModelCo.”
my impression: I’m officially in love with this stuff. It’s great as both a lip color and a cheek rouge! The color is flattering and you can layer it a bit to get a bolder look! The only thing I would say is that when you’re using it on your lips, definitely make sure you’ve got some chapstick or something to moisturize with. Though creamy, it doesn’t have a moisturizing element, so when I didn’t use anything else, I did notice my lips looked a little dry… Other than that though, it’s great, compact and so easy to apply!
Batiste Stylist Oomph My Locks XXL Volume Spray
“Who needs a hairdresser when you have that backcomb in a bottle! Infused with a blend of keratine and inca inchi oil, it adds volume in a dingle spritz – plus it defends against humidity too!”
my impression: big spray for even bigger hair. My hair gets plenty big, but this spray was a nice tough for sure! It smells great and definitely added volume! I was a little confused at first because I know Batiste for their dry shampoo and there was dry shampoo in the last box! I don’t think I’d use it all the time but when I’m in the mood for even bigger hair, it’s definitely on my list!
Laura Mercier Foundatioin Primer Blemish-Less
“The appearance of midday shine can totally disrupt your look – but this water-based gel holds your base in place for longer, controlling breakthrough shine, and helps hide pores and blemishes too!”
my impression: I’ve never actually used a make-up primer before, but I have to say, this one is amazing! I noticed how smooth my make-up went on and it really made my skin like a fresh canvas, smoothing out and minimizing my pores. I’ve been putting this on pretty much every day and it’s great!
Nuxe Prodigieux Shower Oil
“Showers are a daily occurence, but they can feel luxurious too! The Iconic Huile Prodigieuse fragrance wafts from this skin-softening oil, which cleanses and pampers skin beautifully.”
my impression: I’ve never actually used a shower oil before so I didn’t really know what to expect, but I liked it! In a nice steamy shower, it lathers up and is oh so smooth! The oil felt great and left my skin feeling great as well! It certainly made my shower feel uber-luxurious!
Polaar The Geniune Lapland Cream
“A cult favorite with our French team and community, this lovely antioxidant-rich lotion is brimming with a trio of vitamin-packed berries to nourish, protect and pamper dry skin.”
my impression: I used the whole sample in about 2 days and have already bought more. If that’s not a good sign, I don’t know what is! This lotion is incredible! My skin felt so supple and soft! I swear it’s magic!
the verdict: I think this might be my favorite Birchbox yet! It’s the first time I’ve loved all 5 of the products! Normally there are one or two that I’ll like but not love, so it’s nice that every sample in this month’s box was a hit! I think my favorites were definitely the Laura Mercier primer and the Polaar lotion! Everything else was pretty great though! A 5 out of 5 for sure!
