Greenwich Village

January 7, 2017
I think Greenwich Village is possibly the most beautiful part of New York. I used to spend so much time wandering the little streets, and when I was planning my trip home, I knew I wanted to do it again. There is something so charming about the twisting and turning, old cobblestone, grandiose staircases and brownstones that just draw you in. Plus, it’s oh-so-instagrammable; a blogger’s dream! You can spend hours wandering around and never seeing the same thing twice!

Greenwich Village (or “The Village” as we locals call it) is located at the bottom of Manhattan, and has a whole lot of history. It certainly boasts plenty of the classic architecture that New York City is known for. I love it because it has so much character. You walk down streets with pretty houses and little hidden gems, turn the corner, and will find yourself surrounded by bakeries, vintage shops and film sets. Okay, not all the time, but I’ve definitely stumbled on a film set or two in my time. There’s always something happening in the Village!
I don’t know if there’s a comparable neighborhood in London, but Greenwich’s chilled out vibes are definitely something that draws me. Maybe Spitalfields or Notting Hill? It’s so difficult to compare the two cities because they are both so different! One thing that my trip home has taught me? I’m a city girl, through and through. Whether I’m in London or in New York, I feel right at home. And yes, that photo above is the building fromΒ Friends, in case you thought it looked familiar!
