I’m a big fan of this Victorian trend that’s cropping up everywhere. It’s a refined and classy look, I think, and can be flattering to all shapes and sizes. The crisp whites, the lace, the gothic velvet burgundies to match… It’s perfect for the colder, darker months. I found this dress at Oasis and I fell in love straight away.
I took this beautiful number out for a spin in the only place that seemed appropriate… Westminster. The buildings surrounding St. James’s Park are of particular interest to me and the style of it all is rather stunning. I felt like I was in another time, in my pretty lace dress, surrounded by such classic architecture. Very victorian indeed! The lace detail is perhaps my favorite element of the dress, and the high neck features a classic button closure. I thought I’d be a little more dramatic by adding a bright red lip and pairing the dress with my lace-up boots from Pull & Bear, which also have a classic feel about them. I’d love to play with other looks to match this dress too, as I think it could be very versatile. The lace and the crisp white color mean there isn’t much it won’t go with, so that’s a definite bonus!
