Recipe || Christmas Morning Cinnamon Rolls

December 19, 2016
If you’re looking for the perfect thing to nibble on as you open your presents on Christmas Morning, I’ve got you covered. Cinnamon Rolls not only make your house smell amazing, you’ll be hard pressed to only eat one. I made these on Christmas Eve last year, and P and I were nibbling on them for several days! This stunning recipe comes courtesy of food blogger Alice Currah, over at Savory Sweet Life. Have a look at her recipes. You won’t regret it!

for the dough
1 cup warm milk (115 degrees F)
1 egg (room temperature), slightly beaten
¼ cup butter, melted
¼ cup vegetable oil
½ cup white sugar
½ teaspoon salt
3½ cups flour plus more for dusting
1 (.25 ounce) package (2¼ tsp) instant dry yeast
for the filling
½ cup (1 stick) butter melted
½ cup sugar
½ cup brown sugar
3 tablespoons cinnamon

for the frosting:
½ cup butter, softened
¼ cup cream cheese, softened
1½ cups powdered sugarFull recipe here

Before I moved to the UK, I bought Alice’s cookbook, which is great because it’s full of great recipes but it’s also divided up by special occasions. Right there in the chapter all about Christmas, this recipe sits in all it’s cinnamon-y glory! The recipe itself is pretty easy, and it takes maybe two hours from start to finish, and that includes baking time and leaving your dough to rise for an hour! You can have them when they’re still warm from the oven or even once they’ve cooled down!
