Clinique Body Cream SPF 40
Sha la la, SPF is the ultimate summer accessory, but I hate sunscreen. It always leaves my skin so oily and gross looking! I know I can’t be the only one! This body cream, though, is a thing of wonder. It leaves my skin feeling great, without the greasy residue that sunscreens normally leave behind. Not only that, but it’s rich, and moisurizing as well as offering some quality sun protection. I put it on before I leave the house (I still use regular lotion after my shower or bath) and tend to carry it with me wherever I go!
Soap & Glory Breakfast Scrub
Soft skin does the trick, especially in summer! I find, that my skin sometimes struggles to retain moisture if it gets too dry, so exfoliating is a great way to make sure I’m sloughing off all that dead skin (yuck!) and getting to the good stuff! I’m a fan of Soap & Glory scrubs, because not only do they smell amazing, but they aren’t too rough on my skin, and help moisturize while I’m still in the bath!
Boots Oil Absorbing Sheets
I don’t know about you guys, but homegirl gets oily in the summer! Particularly in my t-zone, and having some oil absorbing sheets to help mop up the mess is my secret to getting my makeup to last! You can use this with or without make up on, it doesn’t touch it, it just helps to suck up some of that extra shine. My skin has always been oily, but in the summertime, it kicks into overtime, which is why I keep these bad boys in my pocket at all times!
Bumble and Bumble Bb.Curl Anti-Humidity Gel-Oil
I got a free sample of this stuff last summer and utterly fell in love with it. Humidity and my curls don’t really get along… but this helps not only to keep frizz at bay but also helps define my ringlets and keep them looking fab! A little bit goes a long way as well, which, considering the price, is a definite bonus! Rub a little dab between my palms, rake it through my curls, scrunch them up a bit and I’m good to go!
Essie Nail Polish in Turquoise and Caicos
I love this nail polish! I’ve been buying it for years, because it’s the perfect summer color. I personally think it looks great on just about any complexion and as I work on my summer tan, it will really pop! It’s a definitive favorite. Just like in winter, when I rock Essie’s plum red color, “Wicked,” nary a summer has passed without me embracing a little turquoise and caicos!
There you have it! My summer essentials! Once the weather gets warm, I pack away my winter beauty products and go for a more streamlined vibe that takes less time, less effort, and less stress (why cake on the make up when I’m just gonna sweat it off, am I right?). What beauty products do you totally love once the sun comes out and the weather gets warm?
