I am a big fan of food, as I’m sure you all know, and eating out, though not too often an occurrence, is something I thoroughly enjoy. So, when I was invited along to try out the Brunch menu at Haché with Kristabel, I certainly wasn’t going to say no! I’m a big fan of Brunch… I like food, sure, but brunch is definitively my favorite! We wandered over to Fulham Road to indulge in a bit of brunch and needless to say, we weren’t disappointed!
Well, as a vegetarian I do sometimes find I don’t have too much choice on the menu, depending on where I am, but I was pretty pleased with the selection at Haché! There was plenty of choice, both savoury and sweet, and a nice selection of sides so you can mix and match depending on your mood. I have to say that makes a massive difference to me! I sipped on a lovely latte while I tried to decide what I was in the mood for (trying to decide on an empty stomach is really hard!)
In the end, I decided to go for avocado toast (old reliable) and poached eggs, but I would have happily gone for their stuffed Portobello mushrooms, which sounded pretty delicious. Kristabel chose the Breakfast Burger which had all the breakfast fixin’s (steak burger, smoked bacon, sweet potato rosti, fried Clarence Court egg & coffee ketchup!) and even I had to admit that if I ate meat, I’d be all over that! We shared a lemon and maple waffle afterwards, which was the perfect amount of sweet to balance out the savory! My favorite thing though was the homemade lemonade. Now my idea of lemonade is very different from the fizzy stuff you find in Sainsbury’s. It should literally be fresh squeezed lemon juice, mixed with water and a bit of sugar… tart and oh-so-refreshing on a hot summer’s day! Haché’s homemade lemonade did not disappoint on that front and you can even opt for different flavors! I tried the peach lemonade and had to put in real effort not to gulp it down in one go! There are 4 flavors to try, so I guess I’ll just have to go back a few more times to try them all!
