Ghenet Actually || My Current Beauty Favorites

Hot on the heels of my ‘wear my wardrobe‘ challenge, I’m chatting to you today about some of my favorite beauty products at the moment. Having a shopping ban definitely means I’m taking the time to appreciate the things I’ve got, and it applies to my makeup as well! I don’t know that I talk much about beauty products on the blog, but I’d like to more! So to start it off, I bring you my current beauty favorites!

My Current Beauty Faves

Palmer’s Cocoa Butter Body Lotion:
Let me just clue you in on this winter skin miracle. Palmer’s Cocoa Butter is not only super moisturizing, but it also smells AMAZING. I use it every day, but my absolute favorite time to apply it is after I’ve had a nice soak in the bath and used a body scrub! My skin just drinks it up and feels so soft! It’s rich and luxurious, and for the price (£3.99 a bottle from Boots and Superdrug), I stock up with enough to last me all winter!

Boucleme Curl Cream:
My hair is a big part of my beauty routine. In fact, I have a sneaking suspicion that I have more hair products than make up products, but I’m trying to get through everything I’ve got before I start buy new things. That being said, this curl cream is an absolute beauty favorite! If you’ve got curl hair of any kind, I definitely recommend it! I use it on my hair almost every day, whether it’s wet or dry, and it always makes my curls look amazing! I’ve tried other Boucleme products in the past, but this is the one I just keep coming back to!

Glossier Boy Brow:
I did a post a little while ago, when Glossier first came to the UK, and included Boy Brow there, but at the time, I just wasn’t sure. These days I use it literally every single day. Whether it’s full makeup or au natural, you can bet that my brows have had a sweep of this wonder product! I love how it makes my brows look full and neat, without making them look super overdone! Plus, it’s so handy to keep in my bag on the go, so if I feel like a top up (or I’ve done my makeup at work and want to add a bit more oomph) it’s right there!

The Ordinary Coverage Foundation:
Firstly, can I just say that finding concealer and foundation that matches my skin tone is so frustratingly hard and expensive. Ah, the struggle of being a woman of color… There are some great options (I’m looking at you, Fenty Beauty) but sometimes I don’t want to spend £30+ on something. When I discovered The Ordinary’s foundation, I was excited to try it, not just because they had 21 shades to choose from, but also because the price was right (hello £6 a bottle!)! It goes on so smoothly, and gives me great coverage without looking too cakey or weird. A little bit goes a very long way, and it lasts for ages!

Essie Nail Polish in Wicked:
This is my ultimate go-to nail polish. In fact, I’ve been buying it for YEARS! I don’t know what it is about this beautiful plummy color but when I feel like painting my nails, this is usually the one I pick up! And when it starts reaching it’s last legs, I immediately run out to replace it. In fact, I have it on right now! I do break it up with a fun red, or a pretty pastel from time to time, but honestly, this one gets the most use!

Lancomé Rouge in Love Lipstick in Rendezvous:
I’ve had this lipstick for a year or so and I completely love it! I bought it for my wedding actually, and though I don’t wear a lot of lipstick, or opt for a bright red or a vampy plum, I love using this one for a more low-key look. I love the nude color with hints of pink undertones, and it just makes me feel so damn pretty! I’m a big fan of Lancome lipsticks anyway ( I have a few) but this one tops the list!
