Another month has come and gone! Sometimes they just disappear don’t they? Still sometimes it’s nice to take a step back and remember some of the good things in May. It has been a genuinely great month, and I’d say things are on the up and up! I’ll try too hard not to think about the fact that half the year is gone, but it’s been a real corker so far!
That Royal Wedding
I’ll be the first to admit that I wasn’t really too bothered by the royal wedding at first. Pretty much up until the day, I shrugged it off. Then, of course, I was at work, and thought I’d turn the TV on for a little bit of background noise. What actually happened was that I WAS HOOKED! The celebs! The hats! The cute children! The dress! All of it was just so joy-inducing I couldn’t help but get totally caught up in wedding fever! Plus, it was a very nice reminder that despite all the crappy stuff happening in the world, there are still good things. This was definitely a good thing in May!
Walk The Walk
I’ve really been getting my steps in this month and I couldn’t be happier about it! Whether it was bank holidays spent walking through the countryside, which is a delightful way to spend a day. I also spent some time walking around London! Trekking across Hampstead Heath, wandering through Chelsea, and even keeping it local and walking through Crystal Palace Park. Now that the weather is so nice, it’s hard not to just go for a walk.
New and Old Friends
It seems like May has been a very good month for socializing! I’ve met up with plenty of old pals, and finally met some internet friends in real life. It’s so important isn’t it, to have that real human connection. I know having those little moments is so important to me! I’ve talked about the importance of friendship before, but I think sometimes in the world of social media, we forget to actually check in with people. This is something I’m trying really hard to remember, and I feel like I succeeded this month! If that’s not one of my good things in May, then I don’t know what is!
Back to Hogwarts
Two weeks ago, I started rereading the Harry Potter books. Reading is part of my bedtime ritual, and I just fancied picking them up again! I’ve already plowed through the first two and am halfway through Prisoner of Azkaban! There’s something so nostalgic and lovely about them. I was eleven when I read the first book, and I have very vivid memories of where I was when I read certain parts of the story. I also remember waiting in bookstores at midnight and feeling like Harry, Ron and Hermione were my best friends. Needless to say, the Harry Potter books just make me so darn happy! I know the blog post says 4 good things in May, but there are 7 books in total…
