Ghenet Actually || My Summer Reading List

I feel a bit like I’ve fallen off the reading bandwagon lately. I guess it’s easier in colder weather to sit down and chill out with a book. Now that it’s warm out, I’m much more inclined to head out and go exploring. Still, I do love to read, and I’ve got a whole list of books I’m trying to work through at the moment! one of my goals before I turned 30 was to finish all the books on this reading list. I might not finish all of them, but I’m certainly going to try!

My Summer Reading List

The Life Changing Magic of Tidying by Marie Kondo

Confession: I am a MAJOR hoarder. Okay, nothing like piles and piles of old rubbish slowly taking over the house, but I’m not always great at throwing things away. I’m excited to give this a read, in an attempt to declutter my life and try to get rid of the things I don’t need. Apparently, it’s a real artform!

This Modern Love by Will Darbyshire

The idea behind this collection of stories and experiences kind of tugs at the heartstrings; it’s been on my reading list for a while now, but I knew I’d have to be in the right mood for it. Will Darbyshire has quite the following, so when he was trying to deal with a break-up, he reached out to his audience. They shared their stories. Perhaps that’s what drew me to this book; it’s a collection of stories from real people that might not have otherwise been told.

Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine by Gail Honeyman

I confess, I have been seeing this book absolutely everywhere. It wasn’t originally on my reading list, but I keep hearing such good things about it, so I thought I’d give it a go! It sounds like a great story, so I for one am excited to get stuck in!

The Walworth Beauty by Michéle Roberts

This title popped up in the ‘Customers also bought’ section on Amazon a few times as I was adding books to my reading list. The story sounded really interesting, and I do love when a book takes place in multiple time streams. I imagine it’s a similar vibe to The Muse and The Keeper of Lost Things, both of which I enjoyed! Connecting the dots always makes a story more enjoyable!

Little Fires Everywhere by Celeste Ng

I bought this book on a whim after seeing it mentioned on Stylist Magazine’s website. They’re always making reading suggestions and sometimes, they’re winners! It sounds really interesting, very mysterious. I’m not familiar with Celeste Ng’s writing style but I’m really intigued!

I sped through it! It was the perfect holiday read. Wasn’t sure, since everyone was hyping it up on social media, but I did end up loving it!
