My Current Autumn Reading List

Ghenet Actually || My Autumn Reading List

It’s that time again! Time to share with you the books I’m reading, and want to read. In the autumn and winter, I find that I spend a lot more nights curled up with a good book than I do camped out in front of the TV. I’m not sure why that is, but since that’s the trend, I’ll be calling this my autumn reading list! So many books, not enough hours in the day!

My Autumn Reading List

The Lido by Libby Page
When I spotted this book in Waterstone’s, I was immediately intrigued by the story, and walked out of the shop with it! I sped through this book and completely loved it! It’s a sweet story and as it’s set in London, there’s something very familiar about it. It felt close to home, because I recognized the places they were talking about!

What A Time To Be Alone by Chidera Eggerue
Next up on my autumn reading list is this book by Chidera Eggerue! If you don’t follow Chidera (AKA @TheSlumflower) on Twitter, you are absolutely missing out. I love her, so of course when I heard she wrote a book, I was 100% here for it! I’ve talked about her in my newsletter before, so it should be no surprise that I’m bringing her up here! Can’t wait to get tucked into this bad boy!

America for Beginners by Leah Franqui
I’m halfway through this book already and I’m really enjoying it! It tells the story of three different people on the same tour across America. One Indian widow, on Bangladeshi immigrant who’s only been in America for a short time, and a young woman born and bred in the country. It’s just a very interesting look at opposing cultures and the places where they intertwine!

The Female Persuasion by Meg Wolitzer
I’ve not bought this yet, but it’s in my Amazon shopping cart ready to be purchased! I think I spotted it on Instagram and the premise just sounded so interesting that I added it to my wishlist. Honestly, I keep coming back to the cover too, which has made me very curious about what’s inside!

Slay in Your Lane by Yomi Adegoke and Elizabeth Uviebinené
Sometimes you just need to witness other people’s magnificence to feel inspired. This book is all about sharing some of that inspiration. I’m so excited to get my hands on it, and have a bit more of that ‘when life gives you lemons, make lemonade,’ attitude.

The Joy of Watercolour by Emma Block
Okay, not technically a book, but it’s something beautiful I want to work my way through. I used to paint, draw and watercolor all the time and it’s a hobby I’d like to pick up again. This lovely book is the way I’m hoping to do that!
