I love getting organized for the New Year. There’s something really fun and nice about the whole thing, don’t you think? Especially where my bullet journal is concerned! We all know I love a good bullet journal. It’s so nice to have a place where I can literally just drop everything from my brain onto paper! As we get closer to the end of one year, I always find myself starting to get my bullet journal ready for the next! It’s a chance to set some goals, and really focus. I’ve started with my usual 2019 calendar, but this year, I’m adding a few things!
Monthly Budgeting and Savings:
One of the things I want to accomplish this year is to save some money. I wanted to pay off one credit card in 2018, which I accomplished! I’ve gone through my monthly expenses and have now added savings into that. That way, I can save in a way that is manageable.
I also have to think ahead to the visa I need to pay for in 2020, so starting to work on that goal now, is just pragmatic really isn’t it? I’ve added a page in my bullet journal to keep track of how much I’m saving each month, and to make note of anything that deviates each month!
I’m not big on resolutions, but I have set a few goals for the year. I’ve created a page in my bullet journal where I’ve noted eight things I would like to accomplish this year… Well, six at the moment, but there’s room for two more!
This way, I can check in throughout the year, and see what I can be working on! They’re a mix of big and small things too, so I’m sure I’ll be able to tick a few off the list!
What’s in my Wardrobe:
As I’m sure you’ve noticed, I’m doing my ‘Wear My Wardrobe‘ Challenge again this year. So for the month of January, I’m not doing any shopping. None at all!
I thought it would be wise to have a page in my bullet journal where I can keep track of all the clothing I own. Then as I do begin shopping again, I can add things, and cross off what I get rid of. Then I can see the changes I’ve made over the year!
The Weekly View:
This has changed a bit in the last few months. Earlier in the year, I was dedicating a whole page to each week of the month, along with a to do list and a blog list. It felt like a bit of a waste of space, to be honest! Then I was just listing the whole month on one page, but that didn’t work very well either.
I’ve altered it slightly, in that now, I have two weeks on one page, and the facing page’s to-do list, and blog list are for those two weeks. More compact, but with enough space to jot down notes and changes as I need them!
There are a lot of pages I’ve used in my bullet journal that I’ll be carrying into the new year as well:
– Blog content notes and ideas, as well as notes from my coaching sessions with Vix
– Recipes I want to Try: A great place to note things I want to try, especially when it’s my turn to make dinner!
– Books to Read: Keeping track of what I’m reading and what books are next on my list!
– The Houseplant Survival Guide: The way I keep track of when and how I should be caring for my houseplants! Handy info to have around!
The great thing about bullet journals is that they’re so flexible! You can literally build it for your own needs and that means, I’m always adding pages! I’m sure by the end of the year I’ll have added a few more things!
