Sunday mornings. East London. Fresh cut flowers. Nothing brings a smile to my face faster than a nice bouquet of fresh cut flowers. It’s such a nice treat to have them around the house! The best place to go? Columbia Road Flower Market! It’s is so easy to get to from where I live, so I decided to pop up there early on Sunday with Katy, to get some flowers. It’s a definite must-do for anyone who visits London! Just make sure you’re prepared for how busy it can be!
Columbia Road itself is really sweet even without the flower market. The street is lined with little independent boutiques, filled to the brim with housewares, artwork, clothing and cakes. There are several little cafes in the area as well, because cakes and tea are always a good idea! I wonder what it would be like during the week? I’ll definitely have to head back and check out the stores when the market isn’t there!

Every Sunday, the crowds come streaming in to pick up bouquets of fresh flowers, plants and herbs. The flower market is packed from 8am straight through to 2pm. You do have to prepare yourself for the sheer number of people that descend onto Columbia Road. It’s very manic! My advice? Get there early, if you see something, grab it, then park yourself in a cafe for a few hours!
