Raspberry Beret

November 21, 2017

Guys, I’m completely in love. Firstly, I’m in love with this snazzy beret that I picked up a few weeks ago, and secondly, I’m also totally in love with the color! Do you ever just fall in love with a color? Just about every season, I find myself reaching out to one color that I can’t stop wearing. This autumn, I find myself really drawn to deep reds. Merlot, maroon, berry… I don’t know exactly what to call it, but I am all about it!

Around the time that I was updating my wardrobe with those lovely dark red vibes, berets were popping up all over my Instagram. I mean, how cute do Liv & Carrie look in theirs? Or this adorable beret that Paige DIY‘d and totally aced? My girl Eboni looked super cute in her beret too! After seeing so many cute ones, I thought maybe, just maybe, I would give it a go. Now, normally, I’m not big on hats, because trying to get them to work with my hair can be, at times,  a total joke. They fall right off, or they don’t even fit around my head! Still, I’ve decided that that shouldn’t stop me from trying it out, right? By the time I picked up this gorgeous raspberry number, I just knew that it would have a happy home in my wardrobe!

Now that I’ve tried the look out, I’m officially obsessed. I’ve even added a few more to my wish list (like this pink one, this navy one, this starry one and this pretty embellished one. So cute, right?!) and it’s even inspired me to try to find some good winter hats that will work with my curls! Interestingly, I find myself avoiding black like the plague, as well as looking at more jewel tones like this red. Forest greens, navy blues and deep purples. Then of course, the amount of grey I start wearing increases exponentially as well! I’m determined to keep that trend up this winter as well, and try not to end up mourning the loss of the warm weather with an all black ensemble! I don’t mind the cold weather (there’s something nice about it, when you go for a walk in the crisp air, and then have nice cup of tea or hot cocoa when you get indoors) but I detest being cold! This is where hats come in handy, but if I can make a beret work, who’s to say there isn’t a winter hat somewhere out that will work with my curls and keep me totally toasty and look adorable!

What autumnal styles are you trying out at the moment? Have you jumped on the beret train yet?

Ohhh my you are looking good pretty lady!

I’ve recently moved house, so with all the money that seems to disappear with a house move – fashion has not been high on my list of essential items. You, however, have really inspired me to get myself looking decent this winter, and now I’m on the hunt for some deep red style pieces of my own – anything in red makes you feel like an absolute boss laddyxx
