Where to Find The Best Wisteria In Chiswick

Wisteria season is perhaps my favourite time of year. I love nothing more than going for a wander in a little neighborhood looking for wisteria. I actually also have a Google Map that I add to whenever I find new spots. It’s definitely very niche but I really love it. I’ve even shared some spots in London to find wisteria before! This however is my first neighborhood specific one. Chiswick is a cool area of West London that is perhaps a bit more off the beaten track and it’s well worth a visit, regardless of if the wisteria is in bloom!

To See:

For starters, Chiswick is a great place to walk around. There are some pretty cute little streets to wander, so grab yourself a coffee and get your steps in. I hopped off the District Line at Stamford Brook Station and started my wisteria hunt at St Peter’s Square. There’s some very pretty displays to see there! Then I walked down to Chiswick Mall down by the Thames. You can walk along and see some truly lovely displays.

Fuller’s Brewery is in Chiswick as well, and they offer brewery tours which is fun! They also have a stunning wall of wisteria that you should definitely check out. Chiswick House and Gardens is a must visit as well. I didn’t go in this time around but I have been inside, and it’s lovely. Plus the gardens are well worth exploring. Embrace the Austenian vibes and channel your best Lizzie Bennet!

One final spot to see some wisteria? Strand-on-the-Green! It’s a lovely little road right next to the river, with some very cute cottages. There’s even a little bench where you can sit and take in the view. It’s a bit further of a walk (about 20 minutes or so from Chiswick House and Gardens) but definitely a cute spot to have in your back pocket! I also found some wisteria along St. Mary’s Grove and Grove Park Terrace!

To Eat:

The lovely thing about Chiswick is that there are a lot of food options! Just walk along the high street and you’ll see plenty! I’ve had a nice meal at 197 Chiswick Fire Station a few years ago, as well as Chief Coffee for tea and cake! This time around, I stopped by Urban Pantry to grab a latte to go.

My pal Jules lives in Chiswick and she recommended Angie’s Chiswick as a place to grab a coffee as well as Good Boy Coffee and Tamp Coffee. I also walked by Mari Deli which looked super cute with all of its fruit and veg outside! Honestly, you can just walk along the high street or go for a wander and you’ll find something!

To Shop:

Shopping wasn’t big on my agenda this time around (not as much as the wisteria of course!) but there’s still a few places I like to pop into when I’m around! Foster Books is a must visit, not just because it’s oh so instagrammable but you know I love a cute bookshop! I also love popping into Borough Kitchen because well, I just do. Do I wander around looking at everything dreaming of having the perfect kitchen to put it in? Yes yes I do! I also love popping into The Old Cinema, a vintage furniture store on the high street. Who doesn’t love browsing vintage furniture?

As with the food options, just having a wander will uncover all manner of gem!

Whether or not the wisteria is in season, Chiswick is one of those neighborhoods you should definitely explore. Regardless of the time of year, there are so many corners of London to see though when they’re in bloom it definitely ignites the wandering spirit! Happy exploring!
