Three Ways To Wear A White Shirt
If there’s one staple most of us have in our wardrobes it’s a white shirt. You know the one. It’s just a bit boring but you keep it around, just in case? You wear it for job interviews or when you need to be a bit more formal. Well I’m a firm believer that everything in our wardrobes should be worn and not just for the one off. I have this adorable white collared blouse that is just one shirt… And now I’m endeavouring to wear it. The good news is that with a simple white shirt, the possibilities are actually endless. The same way a neutral trench coat goes with everything, so too does a white shirt.

Layer It
Collars are very on trend at the moment, and my shirt has a lovely little peter pan collar. Even if yours doesn’t though, layering is still an option. Through on a sweater vest, or a jumper and pull the collar through. It’s a look that’s been around forever, really, and you know what? It works! I decided to add some wide leg trousers to my look and I felt stylish and comfy. That’s like the dream outfit right there!
My husband told me I looked cool when I got dressed in this outfit, which is always a good sign! Of course, depending on the weather, you can opt for something a bit more lightweight but the moral of the story is that layering your white shirt is sure to be a winner.

Keep It Classic
Listen, if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it! There is nothing more classic than a white shirt tucked into a pair of jeans. Whatever style of jeans you go for, a white shirt will finish the look to perfection… It worked for Princess Di after all! From there, it’s all about accessories. Statement pieces, fun prints, you name it. Or you can just keep it simple.
I’ll take any excuse to wear leopard print, so I added a belt and hair scarf as well as some fun earrings. Trainers are always a go to for me, especially with jeans. Honestly I feel like you would find me in this outfit on a regular basis. Sometimes swap out the shirt for a t-shirt or jumper, but jeans and trainers are a classic in any capacity!

Tuck It In
I love a midi skirt moment, and tucking a white shirt in is a gold star indeed. The bonus here is that even with this look there are so many ways you can style it. Tuck it in, tie it up, go a bit monochrome… the possibilities are aplenty! It’s a win win, ya know?
This time, I’ve paired my shirt with one of my vintage shirts. In warmer weather, I’d also do this look with sandals and maybe a hair scarf. Boots and a beret are also a great way to style. Accessories can really make the outfit!

So there you have it. A few ideas for the basic white blouse in your wardrobe. The great thing about having basic pieces in your wardrobe is that they are incredibly versatile. It’s a great way to think about what’s in your wardrobe. Versatility is key! That’s the way you get a lot of wear out of your wardrobe, really. Well, that and experimenting. Trying different things and being open!
