Creating Cozy Bedroom Vibes For A Good Night’s Sleep
Comfy in bed? I’m a sucker for lounging in bed, especially when it’s cold and dark outside! I’m also a stickler for a good bedtime routine. For me, the bedroom is very much a haven of relaxation and coziness. There’s a few things I do to help amplify those feelings, to help ensure I get a good night’s sleep! I really struggle if I have a bad night’s sleep so I’m very dedicated to the cause! Here are a few things I do to up the coziness factor in my bedroom!

Tip #1: Invest in a few nice sets of sheets and pajamas…
I read somewhere that most people only change their sheets every few weeks. One of my favorite joyful moments is sliding into a bed with fresh sheets! We change the bedding every week, to make sure the bed always feels fresh! I have three or four sets of sheets that I rotate, so I always know clean sheets are an option. Pajamas go in this category too. Get yourself a few pairs of pajamas that are strictly for sleeping, and you’ll go from cold to cozy in seconds flat! Swap out a fresh pair when you change sheets so they don’t get too icky!
Tip #2: Turn up the mood lighting…
We rarely turn the main light on in our bedroom, and when we do, it always feels really jarring and harsh. Light can effect you that way! Instead, we prefer to use fairy lights. They hang above our bed and offer some soothing ambient light when it’s time to wind down for the night. Sometimes I add a candle or two if I want to get extra cozy. There’s something about that warm amber light that really soothes me. Now that the nights are rolling in early, I turn the fairy lights on as soon as it starts to get dark!
Tip #3: A little plant life goes a long way…
I can’t tell you the difference having a little plant life in the bedroom can make. Not only are they good for your mental health, but having a few plants around can really shift the whole vibe of a room. We have 4 plants that live in the bedroom, and I regularly try to have some flowers on my bedside table. Lately, I’ve been really into dried flowers, including a bit of lavender which has some soothing properties. When I take the plants out of the bedroom, it feels a bit lifeless! So having a little bit of plant life will definitely help!

Tip #4: Ban all tech from the bedroom after a certain hour…
When I head into the bedroom to get ready for bed, my phone tends not to make the trip. I leave it out of the bedroom. In fact, most of the time, I don’t use my phone when I’m in bed. Sure, when I wake up sometimes I have a scroll, but I do believe that leaving tech out of the bedroom helps keep the tranquil vibes alive. Plus, that blue light messes with your sleep, so when you want to be cozy, it’s okay to put your phone in another room. I tend to read before bed, as it’s a great way to wind down. There is a noticeable shift in my quality of sleep on the nights I’m on my phone!
Tip #4: Be sure to create a moment for you…
Whether you’re waking up feeling refreshed, or cozying in bed after a long day, it’s really important to find a little time for yourself. You’ll come to associate that action with relaxation, and that spills over into the bedroom! My bedtime routine involves changing into my pjs, doing a bit of skincare, and making a cup of tea. If I have work to do the next day, I take some time to get everything I need organized, so my mind is clear. Then I’ll get onto my routine, and by the time I’m in bed, I’m feeling pretty relaxed!

I do think spaces have a big impact on our mental health. So doing what you can to keep a space tranquil and relaxing is a good idea! When I don’t have a good night’s sleep I find it a real struggle! So I’m very dedicated to keeping the bedroom tranquil and cozy! It’s the same reason I gave the home office a little TLC while we’re working from home so much lately.
